Ingredients:
- 1 - pound "fresh" Lean Ground Beef (Try to get fresh from butcher so it is not over compacted)
- 4 - garlic cloves, crushed
- 6 - large fresh Basil leaves
- 1 - tsp salt
- 1 - tsp course pepper
- 4 - deli slices of Smokey Fontina Cheese
- Pre-heat BBQ on high
- Break meat up into 4 equal potions
- Flatten portions into loose patties (don't over compact because this will make them tough)
- Lightly season with salt and pepper
- Chop fresh basil and apply equally to the 4 patties
- Crush garlic and apply equally to the 4 patties
- Lightly compact the Basil and garlic into the patties
- Place hamburgers on pre-heated BBQ with Basil and Garlic side up
- Cover BBQ and let hamburgers cook for 3-4 minutes
- Carefully Flip Hamburgers trying to retain the Basil and Garlic
- Cover BBQ and let hamburgers cook for another 3-4 minutes
- Carefully re-Flip Hamburgers trying to retain the Basil and Garlic
- Place a single deli slice of Smokey Fontina Cheese on each patty
- Close lid and BBQ for 1 minute or until cheese is fully melted
- Remove from BBQ and Let stand for 2-3 minutes before serving
Suggestions:
- Serve on toasted ciabatta buns
- Serve with grilled red onions
- Serve with your favorite condiments
